Summary Description
We are seeking a Manager, Field Services, to join our high-performance team and be a part of our journey to shape the future of the Northern Virginia area data center community by delivering resilient and sustainable solutions that make a difference.
The ideal candidate is highly skilled and have demonstrated successful performance in developing and managing a service team, ideally in diesel fuel related mechanical, controls and SCR (pollution control/reduction systems) facility work and have a proven track record of profitable revenue growth. The Manager, Field Services will be responsible for developing and managing a service team, leveraging strong customer relationships to drive new revenue streams, oversee on-site services, provide exceptional leadership and upholding the highest standards of customer service excellence.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- MANAGING SERVICE DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES AND PROVIDING TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP: From project scheduling, customer relations, project management, fleet management and technician training you'll oversee, and participate as needed in all service department activities and provide your expertise.
- IDENTIFYING PROFITABLE PROJECT OPPORTUNITIES: Your role will involve leveraging current and new customer relationships to gain new service contracts and equipment sales opportunities.
- MAINTAINING QUALITY STANDARDS: Interface with ESI’s QC Manager to ensure all service department activities align with ESI’s ISO 9001 quality standards.
- PROJECT MANAGEMENT FOR CONTRACT SERVICES: You will manage projects related to fuel contract services, emergency fuel management services, and SCR services.
- Mechanical and control system projects.
- Maintenance, upgrades and repairs, and consulting support for new business.
- Managing SCR start-up and life-cycle services.
- Working with electrical power systems, electrical testing systems, CAD, Selective Catalytic Reductio (SCR).
- Environmental Compliance - DEQ: SCR/Stack Testing, UST Compliance Testing, ATG testing.
- Proven experience leading service team operations, personal development, and service team operations.
Qualifications
- Working experience with mechanical, controls, electrical systems, SCRs, testing, environmental compliance, and AutoCAD.
- BS, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
- 5-7 years relevant experience including team and project leadership in a manufacturing or field services environment supporting equipment manufacture or services for large system generators, building facilities management, HVAC, or control systems.

Responsibilities include assembling mechanical parts, reading, interpreting, and following mechanical drawings, and keeping a clean, inventoried workstation. The position will also include some field work performing preventative maintenance. Candidate also needs to be able to use basic power tools, test and calibrate parts and mechanisms, and assemble components and parts.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Primary technical assistant for Director, Field Services, and Innovation Engineering.
- Work with ESI engineers and customers to develop and monitor service project specifications and procedures.
- Develop project costing and work with the business department to develop quotes for service department projects.
- Oversee day-to-day Field Services Dept customer support activities.
- Identify expanded and new business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain customer relations and business partner relationships.
- Communicates project information to Director, Field Services, and Innovation Engineering.
- Assists in project costing and bid preparation.
- Assist with oversight, management, maintenance of ESI production and services equipment and of vehicle fleet.
- Write service project procedures as necessary for service projects at customer facilities.
- Other duties as identified and/ or assigned.
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years minimum of relevant experience.
- Basic Computer Skills.
- Knowledge of CAD/Drafting Software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, documents, and project specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
