Andrew Holmberg

CHIEF ENGINEER & DIRECTOR, INNOVATION

Andrew serves as Chief Engineer and Director of Innovation at ESI Total Fuel Management, providing centralized technical leadership across engineering, product development, and innovation initiatives. As ESI continues to scale across divisions and expand its product and service offerings, this role ensures engineering excellence, disciplined innovation, and alignment with evolving customer, regulatory, and market requirements.

Andrew joined ESI in 2004, beginning his career with the company as a temporary employee shortly after graduating from Grove City College with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Over the past two decades, he has progressed through engineering, field services, and product development leadership roles, gaining a comprehensive understanding of ESI’s technologies, operations, and customer applications.

Throughout his tenure, Andrew has led teams responsible for the development and support of more than 40 product variations across nine product lines, playing a central role in the evolution of ESI’s patented Clean Fuel System™ and the creation of ESI’s integrated Ecosystem approach to fuel lifecycle management. His work has helped establish ESI’s solutions as engineered systems—designed for reliability, scalability, and long-term performance in mission-critical environments.

Most recently serving as Director, Field Services and Innovation Engineering, Andrew bridged technical design with real-world execution, ensuring that engineering decisions translated effectively into field performance, production quality, and customer outcomes.

In his current role, Andrew directs ESI’s Engineering and Innovation teams, while continuing to provide technical guidance to Production, On-Site Services, and Quality Control. He works closely with engineering firms, suppliers, and business development to shape the future roadmap of ESI’s products and services, ensuring solutions remain technically rigorous, operationally practical, and market-relevant.

Andrew also represents ESI within key industry organizations, including participation on the ASTM D975 Distillate Committee, helping ESI remain informed of—and actively contribute to—emerging fuel standards and technical developments. In addition, he is leading efforts to evaluate how artificial intelligence and machine learning can be responsibly integrated into ESI’s operations, including predictive maintenance, intelligent monitoring, engineering workflows, quality control, and field diagnostics.

Andrew holds multiple professional certifications, including Veeder-Root Certification, Master Electrician Certification, UL Manufacturer’s Representative Certification, and AWS Welding Certification. His hands-on technical expertise extends beyond theory—most notably demonstrated by building a red iron steel structure from the ground up, reflecting the practical engineering mindset he brings to ESI’s solutions.

Andrew’s leadership ensures that ESI’s innovation remains grounded in engineering discipline, field reality, and customer trust—strengthening the technical foundation behind every ESI solution.
